Work based learning - Earn while you learn
Ideal for staff who would prefer not to go back to a school or college environment and wish to earn a full salary whilst working towards their qualification. We offer work based NVQ courses in level 2 and 3 with opportunities to progress onto level 4 in Child Care Learning and Development.
Candidates are assessed in the work place by their assessor so no need to go back to college. All your underpinning knowledge is taught at the nursery and staff members are guided by our experienced staff who mentor candidates throughout the learning process.

Currently hold a relevant degree?
Sixpenny actively supports the new Early Years professional Status and supports appropriate staff members to further their knowledge by under taking the EYPS. For staff members without a relevant degree we actively encourage the foundation degree with a view to following onto the top up EYPS.
Our staffing teams are made up of members from all walks of life, from experienced child care professionals, students, and even grandparents happy to work just a few hours a week. it is a natural love of children and caring approach which makes the best staff.

Nursery Manager
We actively encourage career development and internal promotions and as a result our current Nursery Manager is moving to our sister school, Stepping Stones Nursery & Pre-Prep School. This leaves a vacancy for an experienced Manager. We are looking for a qualified manager to at least NVQ 3 or equivalent with 2 years post qualification experience.
